How it all started?
It all began with Godwin, a passionate individual who believed that farming could be more than just growing food. To him, aquaponics wasn’t just a method, it was a movement. He saw it as a way to grow crops that were free from chemicals and pesticides, a way to live healthier, more sustainably, and even create a source of income through selling fresh produce.
But back then, few in the community understood the potential of sustainable farming. Many were unfamiliar with aquaponics, its health benefits, or how it could help them take control of their own food sources.
Determined to make a change, Godwin started this initiative to not only grow food but also raise awareness and inspire healthier living through sustainable farming. His vision of clean, accessible food quickly gained the support of like-minded individuals.

Empowering Our Community to Grow Their Own Food
With this mission in mind, Urban Farmer was officially founded by Mr. Godwin Chong and Mr. Ken Lo, turning a personal dream into a community-driven reality. Located in Kampung Ganang, Penampang, Sabah, the aquaponic farm spans over 15,000 sq ft, providing fresh, chemical-free produce for the community.
To further expand the impact, Urban Homefarming Sdn Bhd was established as a subsidiary, focused on building aquaponic systems for homes, schools, institutions, and communities, making sustainable farming accessible to all.
